University of Basrah and the Legislature Discuss New Measures to Improve the Educational and Service Environment
The President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad Al-Dahan, received MP Dr. Saad Naim Al-Awadi to discuss legislative and service-related support for the University and ways to advance its academic and research performance.
The meeting highlighted the importance of joint coordination in enacting and amending legislation that safeguards the rights of university employees and supports students’ aspirations.
Dr. Saad Naim Al-Awadi affirmed that supporting the University of Basrah is a key parliamentary priority, given its academic standing and pivotal role in developing human resources in the governorate. He also pledged to follow up on the University’s financial and academic matters in Parliament and with the relevant ministries.
For his part, the University President expressed his appreciation for the visit, noting that effective partnership with the Council of Representatives is essential to overcoming obstacles and accelerating development across the University’s various sectors.
