Joint Research Paper by Two Faculty Members from the University of Basrah was Published in a Prestigious International Journal
Ali Shamkhi Hashim and Dr. Basil Hani Jassim, faculty members in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with other researchers, published a research paper in the international journal Scientific Reports, published by Springer Nature.
The paper is titled: “Sharing Reactive Power Between Parallel Voltage Source Inverters (VSIs) in an Isolated Microgrid Using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm.”
The research discusses a control strategy based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to modify the traditional “drop control” method. The aim is to ensure accurate sharing of active and reactive power between parallel-connected VSIs and to compensate for voltage and frequency errors at steady state.
