University of Basrah Holds Web Seminar on Psychological Counseling Ethics and Client Protection

The Development and Continuing Education Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, conducted an online seminar addressing ethical responsibility in psychological counseling.

The seminar aimed to enhance professional awareness regarding principles of integrity, confidentiality, and respect for human dignity.

Presented by Dr. Rafeef Abdul-Hafidh Al-Riyahi, the seminar covered several core themes, including counseling practice ethics, client rights, informed consent, and the protection of personal data and information, alongside standards for professional disclosure, handling ethical situations, and making responsible decisions.

The seminar recommended adopting clear policies to safeguard confidentiality, secure records, and intensify professional training on ethical practices.
