Emphasizing the international academic reputation and in commitment with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation at the level of institutional and program performance and in implementation of the policy and ending the independence of university institutions, the Ministry of Higher Education announces Scientific Research that enables and the success of Iraqi universities to enhance their position in international classifications, as the universities of technology ,Baghdad,Basra and Al-Mustansiriys advanced competitive positions within the results of the Times World Classification in its version for the year2022,which ranked more than 1600 universities from 99 countries.
In the context of this achievement, the University of Technology has advanced more than 200 ranks within the 801 category in the world after being ranked in the last world version within 1000, while the universities of Baghdad, Basra and Al-Mustansiriya came within the 1201 category.
And according to the results of the 2022 edition published in Al-Mustansiriya University for the first time in the Times classification, data has been analyzed for more than two thousand and one hundred international universities and a classification of more than one thousand and six hundred universities from ninety-nine countries.
It is worth noting that the British Times World Classification adopts five main scientific criteria for evaluating and grading universities, which are scientific research at 30%, education at 30%, citations at 30%, international outlook 7.5%, and knowledge transfer (return from industry) 2.5%.
It is noteworthy that Iraqi universities recorded a global presence and competition in the Times classification for sustainable development and the Times version of international universities indicated the competition, attendance and participation of Baghdad, Technology and Basra universities for the year 2021 ,and the QS rankings published at least eighty-six Iraqi universities and colleges in the competition arena .Iraq ranked 45th globally in publishing scientific research, 6th in the Middle East, and 3rd globally in the publication index at global levels.
