A doctoral thesis at University of Basrah examines the effect of endophytic fungi and their secondary metabolism on some fungi that are pathogenic to wheat plants
A doctoral thesis at College of Science at University of Basrah examined the isolation and diagnosis of endophytic fungi and the estimation of their effect and secondary metabolism on some fungi that are pathogenic to plants.
The thesis of the student Alaa Aladdin Mutawaq Al-Rifai aims to identify the types of endophytic fungi in 20 plant species.
The study concluded that these fungi can improve the vital characteristics of the plant and protect it from diseases; as endophytic fungi are a group of microscopic fungi that colonize and grow inside healthy plants in all or part of their life cycle without causing any disease or obvious harm to the host; The results also showed, through the results of genetic analysis, the registration of (30) new fungal species for the first time in Iraq.
