University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, honors female students who wear the abaya inside the classroom
University of Basrah, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, organized a ceremony to honor female students who wear the abaya inside the classroom at the university.
The Assistant President of University for Administrative Affairs at University of Basrah, Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, stated during his speech at the ceremony that this honor, which was dedicated to honoring a group of female students from the University of Basra who wear the abaya inside the classroom, is a consolidation of the principle of preserving the values of Islamic law, which urged the preservation and protection of women's dignity in all aspects of life.
He added that this group of female students who wore the abaya inside the classroom of their own free will proved that wearing the abaya does not stand in the way of achieving success and excellence in various scientific and humanitarian fields.
Khazal continued that holding such forums does not mean that we in the university administration impose specific values and culture on others, but rather we believe that the university is a meeting place for all religions and sects, while emphasizing the lofty values and principles urged by heavenly laws and the cultural heritage of our society.
