A doctoral thesis at University of Basra examines the conditions of the Abbasid state in the explanation of Nahj al-Balagha
A doctoral thesis at College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah examined the conditions of the Abbasid state through the explanation of Nahj al-Balagha by Ibn Abi al-Hadid al-Mu'tazili 656 AH - 1258 AD, an analytical and critical study.
The thesis of the student Taher Ali Ubaid al-Mayahy aims to identify what Ibn Abi al-Hadid mentioned about the Abbasid state in his book and discuss the narrations he brought and stand on them to clarify their causes and outcomes that are consistent with the requirements of the scientific method that helps everyone achieve important scientific results.
The thesis dealt with the conditions of the Abbasid state on the political, social and administrative levels throughout history, starting from the time period of the establishment of the Abbasid state in 132 AH / 749 AD until the Mongol invasion of Baghdad in 656 AH / 1258 AD.
The thesis concluded that Ibn Abi Al-Hadid had a special vision of the conditions of the Abbasid state in his book Sharh Nahj Al-Balagha, as he separated the events according to what touched the heart of his beliefs in word and deed, especially since he narrated the subject and presented it in a very high literary language that is difficult for the recipient to comprehend. This was observed throughout the twenty parts of his explanation, in addition to the fact that he does not adhere to the texts that he derives from the sources, but we find him adding to them from his information and mixing it with other words.
