University of Basrah raises the banner of Husseini mourning, marking the beginning of the month of Muharram
This morning, University of Basra celebrated the ceremonies of raising the banner of blessed Husseini mourning coming from the holy city of Karbala, marking the beginning of the ceremonies of the month of Muharram, the month of the martyrdom of the father of the free, Imam Hussein bin Ali, his family and his supporters (peace be upon them), at the Bab al-Zubair Colleges Complex, amidst a spiritual atmosphere of faith and reverence, in the presence of a delegation from the al-Abbas shrine carrying the banner from the land of the father of the free in the holy Karbala, headed by the advisor to its Secretary-General, Hajj Fadhel Oz, in addition to academic and scientific figures and affiliates who expressed their deep belonging to the family of the Messenger, peace be upon them.
The President of University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim al-Asadi, said in a speech he delivered on this occasion, “These rituals must be revived in the best bright image that appeals to minds and hearts and keeps pace with the times, because the rituals represent messages of truth and peace to humanity and are derived from the authentic Muhammadan Islam that The blood of Imam Hussein and his companions, peace be upon them, shone in the battle of truth and justice to show the truth clearly, so peace be upon you, O Abu Abdullah.. and upon the souls that have settled in your courtyard.. upon you from me, God's peace forever as long as I remain and as long as night and day remain. Al-Asadi added - University of Basrah continues to commemorate this painful memory in the hearts of believers year after year in the month of lessons and morals to draw lessons from the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and that raising the flag today in the sky of our educational institution is a beacon for its students, affiliates and teaching staff to follow the thought of the Master of Martyrs and a beacon that enlightens all humanity to the path of truth and righteousness, and it is a great honor for us to raise the flag of Imam Hussein in its courtyards to embody the spirit of martyrdom, sacrifice and sacrifice for the sake of lofty principles, and that today's attendance completes the march for the Master of Martyrs, Hussein, peace be upon him, for its great symbolic connotations that reflect adherence to the values and principles of the immortal Husseini revolution.
For his part, the Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Hajj Fadhel Awz, expressed his thanks for University of Basrah's reception of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine delegation every year to raise the banner of Husseini grief in the presence of a group of faithful professors, students and employees, and for this banner to remain illuminating the path of justice, truth and humanity as an extension of the eternal Muhammadan message. He added, "We live these days and remember the martyrdom of Al-Hussain and his companions, peace be upon them, and the injustice suffered by the people of the House of Prophecy after they were removed from their positions in which God Almighty appointed them, so they were killed and tortured as a result of their call to truth and justice, rejecting evil, seeking reform in the nation and raising the word that "There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God." The Imams of the Household, peace be upon them, have recommended that we commemorate this anniversary by narrating the calamities that befell Al-Hussain and his companions, so that this anniversary remains a beacon illuminating the path of humanity towards liberation from injustice and slavery."
