University of Basrah wins first place in Karbala International Prize Competition.
The lecturer at College of Dentistry at University of Basrah, Hafiz Hassan Abdul-Ridha Abdullah, won first place in the third Karbala International Prize Competition for Reciting and Memorizing the Holy Quran.
The official of the Quranic Media Division affiliated with the Holy Quran House at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein said that the competition was held in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein and the memorizer was representing the Republic of Iraq.
He also explained that the closing ceremony included a fragrant recitation of the Holy Quran by the reciter Ahmed Al-Sharikhani, and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs and a speech by the head of the Holy Quran House Department, Sheikh Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Hadi, in which he expressed his thanks to those who contributed to the success of the competition. The results were announced and the arbitration committee and participants in the competition were honored by the Holy Quran House.
