University of Basrah organizes a workshop on the impact of technology on family disintegration
Cultural Center at University of Basrah, in cooperation with College of Education for Girls, organized an online workshop entitled "The Impact of Technology on Family Disintegration" with the participation of academics and specialists.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among participants about the consequences of excessive use of modern technological means, as they are a double-edged sword, including the use of mobile phones and social networking sites.
The workshop, which was managed by Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi and Dr. Sarah Ibrahim Ahmed, dealt with the definition of family disintegration, its causes, and the negative effects of technological techniques on the cohesion of social relations between parents and children, husband and wife, and analyzing the phenomenon of deviation and domestic violence and the complexity of resolving marital disputes.
The workshop called for the necessity of setting a time to use technological tools, deepening the roots of direct communication between members of society without using technology, and engaging in sports and useful hobbies to fill free time.
