An article by a lecturer at University of Basrah on clean air and children
Professor Moataz Hekmat Othman in Department of Environmental Science at College of Science at University of Basrah published an article entitled "Clean Air Means Healthy Children".
The article, which included a detailed explanation of the side effects of air pollution on children and the slowness of their cognitive development and working memory abilities, also addressed the negative impact that pregnant women are exposed to due to polluted air, which may lead to the birth of small children and an increased risk of lung diseases and acute respiratory infections.
The article was published in the Iraqi Sky News Agency, which outlined tips to avoid the negative effects of air pollution of all kinds on children.
