A PhD thesis at University of Basrah examines the mineral evaluation of limestone rocks for cement manufacturing purposes
A PhD thesis at College of Science at University of Basra examined the mineral and chemical evaluation of limestone rocks in the formations bearing them in the Zurbatiya area/eastern Iraq for cement manufacturing purposes.
The student Ahmed Osama Abdul Qahar's thesis aimed to manufacture cement from these rocks using technological methods specific to the cement industry and preparation outside Iraq. The product was then evaluated according to Iraqi and international specifications and there was a match with the global requirements of this industry.
The thesis included a comprehensive qualitative study of limestones located within four exposed geological formations in the Zurbatiya area and their mineral and chemical evaluation as basic raw materials in the cement industry for the needs of the region.
