A lecturer at University of Basrah participates in the first international environmental forum at University of Kirkuk.
Dr. Raghad Shabar Jaafar, a lecturer at Marine Sciences Center at University of Basrah, participated in the first international environmental forum organized online by Kirkuk University in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Environment and Dowiz Environmental Protection Organization.
The lecturer's participation included presenting a research paper entitled "The role of microbial solutions in cleaning the environment and removing heavy metals and aromatic hydrocarbons."
The research aimed to adopt environmentally friendly methods, including bacteria isolated from the same environmental medium due to their ability to coexist with high concentrations of pollutants as a result of their possession of a special physiology to represent pollutants, in addition to their adoption as alternative energy sources.
