A lecturer at University of Basrah publishes an article on radon and uranium gas

A lecturer at College of Science at University of Basrah, Moataz Hikmat Othman, published an article entitled "Radon Gas and Hidden Uranium".

The article, which included a detailed explanation of radon gas, which results from the natural radioactive decay of uranium found in all rocks, soil and water, dealt with how it spreads in the indoor environment, its proportions, limits and radiation risks.

The article was published in the Iraqi "Sky" News Agency, which summarized tips to reduce the effects of the gas by spending less time in places where its concentration is higher, such as the basement or garage, maintaining air flow, opening windows, and not using groundwater and building materials from places contaminated with gas.
