A book entitled Family Counseling was published by a lecturer at College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Abdullah, lecturer Aya Abdul Amir Ali, and lecturer Nasser Thamer Lafta (General Directorate of Education in Basrah).
The book, which included 225 pages distributed over ten chapters, shed light on psychological guidance and counseling services, the basics of marital counseling and therapy, and the factors that may lead to poor family performance. It reviewed the most prominent family problems, crises, and conflicts due to the abnormal climate in the family. The book shows the analytical, behavioral, and rational-emotional stages in family counseling and treatment, and presents behavioral therapy, behavioral modification, and theoretical assumptions for behavioral family therapy.
