A doctoral thesis at College of Arts at University of Basrah examined (the geomorphology of the Al-Khar alluvial fan using modern geographic technologies)
The thesis presented by researcher Sarah Raad aimed to identify the factors and processes that led to the emergence, development and extension of the fan and the stages it went through before reaching its current form.
The thesis recommended studying the geomorphology of the Al-Khar alluvial fan using modern technologies, remote sensing data (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) as it aims to identify the most important natural qualifications of the fan and the processes affecting the formation of the fan, and to know the mechanism of its emergence and the stages of fan formation until it reached its current form.
