The thesis presented by the student Shahid Abdul Redha Abdul Ali aims to identify the most important political and military events and developments within Afghanistan during this period, analyze the factors of conflict between the parties to the conflict, highlight the role of neighboring countries, regional powers and major powers, and explain the most important effects of the conflict on the unity of Afghanistan.
The thesis concluded that the conflict in Afghanistan is ethnic in addition to the conflict over power, and was exacerbated by the interventions of neighboring countries. In addition, the Afghan parties that seized power after Najibullah failed to bring calm and stability to the country. The most important reasons for this were the disagreement among them and their incompetence in managing the country, which made the war continue, which burdened them and bent their stature.
