A master's thesis at College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah examined the spatial distribution of fuel stations in Al-Qurna District.
The thesis, presented by the student Rida Tahseen Abdullah, aimed to study the fuel stations distribution in Al-Qurna District through description, analysis, and conclusion, and showing balance achieving extent between spatial distribution and population distribution.
The thesis included the historical evolution study of fuel stations in Al-Qurna District and the increasing in cars number on the district, as his study included two historical stages.
The thesis concluded that the fuel stations number that belonging to the private sector has been testified a huge increasing, especially after 2003, with (13) stations out of the operating stations total number in the district. The reason is that the private sector has taken the responsibility to establish these institutions after the government sector has been stopped investing in this field since the end of the nineties, also to keep up with the steady increasing for the vehicles number.
