A master's thesis at College of Veterinary Medicine at University of Basrah examined the effect of Cordyceps militaris mushroom supplement in the diet on growth, physiological performance and quality of Japanese quail eggs.
The thesis, presented by student Rehab Manati Asmar, aims to improve the growth and health status of quail by adding nutritional supplements with high nutritional value such as Cordyceps militaris mushroom to diets, which positively reflects on the bird's production index.
The thesis included adding Cordyceps militaris mushroom as a nutritional supplement for quail as it is considered an alternative to poultry meat, as 4.0 mg of it was added to quail diets compared to other treatments.
