The thesis presented by the student Muhammad Yaqoub Yousif aims to trace the American policy towards Hungary 1945-1948, and how this policy contributed to consolidating Soviet influence in Hungary, despite its attempts to thwart Soviet projects there.

The thesis included a statement of American policy towards Hungary 1939-1944, the position of USA towards Soviet policy towards Hungary January 1945-February 1946, the efforts of the United States of America to solve the regional problems of Hungary and its position at Paris Peace Conference January 1945-September 1947, and the policy of USA towards political developments in Hungary and the growing of the Communists there February 1946-June 1948.
