A book entitled (The poetics of mythical formation in modern Iraqi poetry) was issued by a lecturer at Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at University of Basrah, Dr. Hala Fathi Kazim.

The book, classified in literary criticism, focused on the use of myth in poetry, creating poetic models with special expressive features and a distinguished position in modern and contemporary Iraqi poetry, since contemporary critical study lacks a detailed study in this field.
The book dealt with the study of mythical formation and its openness to other performing arts such as poetic drama and related means of dramatic expression, and the study of mythical formation and openness to the narrative trend, in addition to analyzing the myth symbolically in narrative poetry with reference to the mythical formation manifestations such as ritual, rhythm, and discourse, and studying the techniques of formulating formation in the poetic structure such as repetition, association, and intertextuality.
