PhD Thesis at University of Basrah Investigating Tumour Viruses
The PhD thesis at the College of Science, Basrah University, focused on the molecular characterisation of human tumour viruses in cancer patients in Basrah Governorate.
The thesis, presented by the student Aqeel Abdul-Ali Abdul-Sahib, aimed to study human tumour viruses.
It included the identification of four types of human tumour viruses from Karolinska Institute, University of Washington, Malawi, and St. Louis, and examined their molecular characteristics using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques.
The thesis concluded that there are two types of human tumour viruses present in many patients with colorectal, breast, thyroid, and rectal cancers.
