Basrah University Holds Symposium on the Role of Pesticides and Sustainable Agriculture in Iraq
College of Agriculture at Basrah University organized a symposium on the role of pesticides and sustainable agriculture in Iraq, and the role of private sector companies therein.
The symposium, presented by Engineer Wisam Abdul Aziz, aimed to highlight the dangers of pesticides and their negative impacts on food products, as well as the role of private sector companies in supporting and sustaining agriculture in Iraq.
The symposium emphasized the importance of using safe pesticides that leave no negative environmental impact, as well as the important role that private sector companies can play in training and qualifying agricultural engineers. Furthermore, the symposium stressed the importance of organic and clean agriculture as factors of sustainability and their positive role in reducing the toxic effects of pesticides.
