University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on the Speicher Massacre
College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Martyrs Foundation, organized a symposium on the Speicher Massacre in the presence of the University President's Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal.
The symposium aimed to introduce the Speicher Massacre as a genocide against humanity and to demonstrate its impact on the unity of society and civil peace.
The symposium, which was moderated by a number of faculty members from the college and the foundation, addressed the humanitarian, political and legal dimensions of the massacre and the ugliness of the crime, which represents a genocide that is unparalleled in the present era.
Dr. Haider Khazal stressed that the Speicher Massacre indicates the lack of conscience of its perpetrators who sold their souls to evil and thus deserved damnation from God and history. He stressed the need to learn from this crime and to immortalize it according to the ugliness and enormity of the incident, as well as to educate and raise awareness against its perpetrators and work to combat extremism to achieve justice.
