University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on Drug and Psychotropic Substance Abuse Phenomenon in Society
The College of Fine Arts at University of Basrah organized a symposium on the phenomenon of drug and psychotropic substance abuse in Iraqi society.
The symposium aims to raise awareness in society about the dangers of addiction and to identify the effects of drugs from the physical, psychological, social and legal aspects.
The symposium, which was presented by a group of specialists, included accurate and comprehensive information about the health damages resulting from drug abuse and its profound impact on the human body, in addition to the psychological effects that affect the addict and affect his psychological state and social stability. It also included clarifying the legal aspect of drug abuse and the most prominent legislation related to imposing penalties and legal dealing with this phenomenon, within the framework of raising awareness of the importance of adhering to the laws and their role in protecting society from the dangers of drugs.
