PhD Thesis at Basrah University Discusses the Preparation of Smart Polymeric Coatings against Corrosion
A PhD thesis in the College of Science at University of Basrah discussed the preparation and characterization of hybrid polymers prepared from polypyrrole, polyaniline and their copolymer with nano-oxides of zinc, iron and silicon oxides and their use as self-healing coatings against corrosion.
The thesis presented by the student Dalal Abdul-Imam Muhammad aims to prepare smart polymers hybridized with nano-oxides using basic shell polymerization and use them as coatings to prevent corrosion of carbon iron in acidic medium.
The thesis included the use of the basic shell polymerization method for hybrid nano-polymers and the preparation of polymeric coatings for self-protection against corrosion in acidic medium for carbon iron.
