Basrah University Organizes a Scientific Lecture on the Cardiovascular Protective Effects of Garlic
The College of Science at Basrah University held a scientific lecture on evaluating the cardiovascular protective effects of the plant garlic, Allium sativum.
The lecture aimed to raise awareness about heart diseases and the associated health risks for individuals.
Presented by Dr. Iqbal Abdulaziz Hazim and lecturer Zainab Jasim Abdul Ridha, the lecture discussed the benefits of garlic consumption for individuals with heart and vascular issues. It also addressed the potential of garlic as an alternative to medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol, highlighting significant research findings in this field.
The lecture recommended the use of garlic in the form of dietary supplements for patients with hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. It also suggested it as a preventive treatment for individuals who may be at risk of high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels.
