Basrah University Organizes Symposium on Biopesticides
The College of Agriculture at Basrah University, in collaboration with the Basrah Agriculture Directorate, organized a symposium on biopesticides and their use in the Basrah Governorate.
The symposium aimed to identify the most important biological methods used by the Plant Protection Department and the Protection Section in the Basrah Agriculture Directorate for the management and control of epidemic pests.
Lectured by Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Al-Deerawi, the symposium reviewed the most significant modern control methods, including the use of parasites, pathogens, and plant extracts, to reduce or regulate the use of chemical pesticides in agricultural pest control.
The symposium recommended increasing the production and use of biological enemies for agricultural pest control.
