Basrah University Organizes Awareness Seminar on the Dangers of Domestic Violence
The Marine Science Center at Basrah University organized an awareness seminar titled "Domestic Violence: The Danger of the Problem and the Absence of Deterrent Laws."
The seminar, presented by Dr. Shahad Ali Abdullah and Dr. Zainab Hazim Kashish, discussed the dangerous effects and implications of violence on families and society. It included defining the concept of domestic violence, its types, and the psychological, physical, financial, and medical impacts on its victims. Additionally, it covered legislative provisions in the current Iraqi law regarding violence crimes and recommendations that could help reduce the spread of the phenomenon.
