Basrah University Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Spread of the Suicide Phenomenon: Causes and Solutions.
The College of Administration and Economics in Qurna at Basrah University organized a scientific symposium titled "The Spread of the Suicide Phenomenon: Causes and Solutions."
The symposium aimed to clarify the causes of the suicide phenomenon, discuss some statistics and studies related to the groups most exposed to suicide and the reasons behind it, as well as to propose some mechanisms that may reduce this phenomenon.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Arafat Nasser Jasim, included a discussion on the data announced by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior regarding the suicide phenomenon from 2003 to 2024. It provided information on the causes and the extent of the connection between those cases and social, economic, and religious influences and pressures.
