University of Basrah Faculty Member Joins Efforts in Developing Technological and Scientific Incubators
As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's efforts to develop the entrepreneurship sector and support scientific innovation in Iraq, Dr. Inas Abdulaziz Al-Naser, a faculty member at the Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra, participated in a ministerial delegation's visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This visit coincided with the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week, reflecting Iraq's commitment to supporting this vital sector both locally and internationally.
The visit included meetings with Ferdowsi University and its technological incubators, as well as the Khorasan Science and Technology Park, where models for supporting startups and connecting them to the job market were discussed. The delegation also visited the International Park for Science and Technology in Tehran, one of the most prominent institutions supporting innovation.
The tour also included visits to Imam Hussein University and the Elmi Tahqiqati Imam Soleimani Company, in addition to Sharif University of Technology, to discuss strategies for turning scientific research into practical projects that contribute to economic development.
The meetings and discussions during the visit focused on mechanisms for funding and managing technological incubators and the importance of creating programs that foster innovation and entrepreneurship, opening new horizons for enhancing the role of Iraqi universities in achieving sustainable development, which is the cornerstone of knowledge-based development.
