University of Basrah Opens the Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory
The Dean of the College of Engineering at University of Basrah, Dr. Mufeed Turkey Rashid, opened the Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory.
The Dean of the College stated during his speech at the opening that the laboratory will provide the latest technologies to conduct advanced tests that do not affect the safety of materials, which enhances the capabilities of applied education for undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to researchers from inside and outside the college.
Adding that the laboratory includes many testing techniques such as acoustic emission technology, magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic defect testing, penetrating fluid testing, surface roughness testing, paint quality testing and other tests.
Stressing that the opening of the laboratory is part of the college's strategy to support innovation and scientific research, in addition to enhancing cooperation with the industrial sector in order to build bridges that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
