University of Basrah Organizes a Discussion Session on the Moringa Tree
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a discussion session on the Moringa tree.
The session, led by the lecturer Anwar Hamad Ali, aimed to identify the health and therapeutic benefits of the plant and to rely on the natural extracts of the plant for prevention or therapeutic support for drugs against some diseases.
The session included a statement of the phenotypic description of the Moringa oleifera plant, its original habitat and spread, as well as a statement of the active compounds of the plant extracts and the biological effectiveness with the therapeutic applications of the plant leaf extracts such as regulating sugar and cholesterol and treating stomach ulcers, in addition to their adoption as nutritional supplements rich in minerals and vitamins.
