University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Food Safety and Health
To enhance the principle of cooperation between the university's scientific and humanities colleges, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on food safety and health at the College of Fine Arts, attended by several staff members.
The seminar aims to introduce the importance of food and the contaminants that affect it to increase individual preventive awareness of various diseases.
The seminar, presented by Sarah Salem Mohammed, the Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, included an explanation of the contaminants that affect food and cause diseases in humans, as well as safety and hygiene measures to prevent them. It also addressed the impact of climate change on animal health and production, in addition to highlighting zoonotic diseases shared between humans and animals.
