University of Basrah Conducts a Scientific Visit to Al-Tayyib Area in Maysan Governorate
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific field visit to Al-Tayyib area in Maysan Governorate.
The visit, accompanied by several faculty members, aimed to familiarize students with the types of underground reservoirs and the nature of wells in the field area.
The group visited the General Authority for Groundwater in the Maysan branch, where an explanation was provided about the region's groundwater reservoir formations and the types of confined and semi-confined aquifers. Subsequently, the team proceeded to the fieldwork area in the Jilat region of Al-Tayyib. Detailed explanations were given on the area's structural and geological features, as well as the tectonic movements it has undergone over time.
Additionally, the team visited the Zubaidat area, which houses an artesian well for a confined underground reservoir.
