The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a discussion session titled "Current Therapeutic Strategies for Structural and Functional Repair of Spinal Cord Injuries."
The session, led by Dr. Rawa Salim Hamid, aimed to explore the efficacy of minocycline as a combined therapy with neural stem cell transplantation using a spinal cord slice culture model.
The discussion highlighted that spinal cord injury is a severe public health issue that often affects healthy young adults. Approximately 2.5 million people suffer from spinal cord injuries, with more than 130,000 new cases occurring globally each year.
