University of Basrah Organizes a Training Course on Microbial Examination Methods for Samples
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a training course on the microbial examination methods for samples, food safety testing, and bacterial culture methods.
The course aims to introduce methods for using culture medium for some solid and liquid samples in various agricultural media.
The course, lectured by Dr. Gheidaa Ali Makki, included a group of instructors explaining how to prepare culture media, peptone dilution, cultivation of some solid samples from meats and vegetables, liquid samples of running drinking water, and sterilization to detect microbial contamination by some pathogenic bacteria, such as the total bacterial count.
The course recommended paying attention to the safety of food prepared for human consumption and storing it away from contaminants and improper storage.
