A Lecturer at University of Basrah Selected as a Scientific Reviewer for an Upcoming Book Chapter
Dr. Haleema Jabbar Al-Aradi, a lecturer at the Date Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah, has been chosen as a scientific reviewer for a chapter in the forthcoming book titled "Recent Developments in Chemistry and Biochemistry Research," to be published by the global publishing house BP International.
The chapter, (Assessment of Extracts Makeup of Parkia Biglobosa Fruit Husk: A Component of Indigenous Mud-Wall-Plaster Technology in Ghana) explores the utilization of significant non-wood products derived from the husks of African locust bean fruit. It discusses the use of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of these husks in constructing houses and shelters due to their beneficial cement-like properties for building. The husk extracts help bind the soil and make the surface water-resistant.
