A Scientific Study at Basrah University Investigates the Improvement of the Properties of Materials Manufactured Using a Three-Dimensional Method
A scientific study at the University of Basrah prepared by the two lecturers in the College of Engineering, Dr. Safaa Khairi Jeaaz and Dr. Haider Moaz Muhammad, investigated the improvement of the surface properties of materials manufactured using a three-dimensional manufacturing method using Laser Sintering technology in addition to the effect of the power of a CO2 Laser.
The study was published in the journal (3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing) classified within Scopus containers and has an impact factor of 2.3.
The results of the study showed the importance of Nanoclay as a material that enhances surface quality. As Nanoclay interacts with polymer particles through physical and chemical bonds, which increases the density of particle bundles within the printed material, thus reducing surface roughness.
