The Center for Development and Continuous Education at the University of Basrah held a lecture on ethical decision-making, sixth unit for the humanities specialization, as part of the teaching methods course.
The lecture aims to train university professors in the humanities specialization on how to make ethical decisions in academic work.
The lecture, presented by the trainer Tharaa Abdul Rasul Hassan, included the significance of making ethical decisions in the academic environment and the role of ethics in enhancing integrity and transparency in education and scientific research. The fundamental principles of academic ethics, such as honesty, fairness, and respect, were discussed, along with how to address challenges that academics may face when making decisions affecting the course of education and research. Practical case studies illustrating the impact of ethical decisions in academic life were also presented.
