The Center for Development and Continuous Education at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on morals and professional ethics for the educational specialization. This was part of the sixth unit in the teaching methods course.
The lecture aims to introduce the concept of professional ethics and compare the concepts of morals and professional ethics for the trainees.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Ahmed Qasim Khalaf Al-Shamkhawi, provided an introduction to the concept of morals, their sources, and importance, as well as whether morals are innate or acquired. It also covered the stages of the development of moral concepts, the comparison between morals and ethics, the ethics of the teaching profession, the sources of teaching ethics, the principles and foundations of teaching ethics, and the types and goals of professional discipline.
