University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
The College of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration with the College of Education for Human Sciences at Basrah University, organized an informative seminar on drugs and psychotropic substances and their psychological, social, and legal effects.
The seminar aimed to curb the spread of drugs in our society and promote preventive awareness among students.
Dr. Abdul Kareem Al-Mawzani and several specialists led the seminar, providing insights into the types and forms of drugs that might be circulated and highlighting their dangers. They emphasized the harm caused from health, psychological, social, and economic perspectives, especially affecting various age groups, particularly university students.
The seminar recommended emphasizing the role of awareness, starting with family and community, in controlling and eradicating the phenomenon of addiction.
