Basrah University Organizes a Symposium Entitled "Women's Role in Protecting Society from the Scourge of Drugs"
The College of Education of Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a symposium on the role of women in protecting society from the scourge of drugs.
The symposium aimed to identify the types of drugs, symptoms of addiction and its consequences on the individual user and the family.
The symposium, which was presented by Dr. Hasna Amir Mahous and Dr. Afaaq Lazem Abdul-Lateef, included the most prominent reasons leading to the involvement of young people in these harmful phenomena in society, the most prominent of which is family disintegration, which shows the role of the family in general and the role of the mother in particular in containing the children and building their strong, solid personalities that serve as intellectual and moral immunity from falling into these prohibitions and other deviant behaviors.
The symposium recommended that women have the greatest role in protecting their children from the scourge of drugs and thus protecting society in general.
