University of Basrah Celebrates Iraqi Victory Day
The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basrah celebrated the Iraqi Victory Day and the achievement of the final victory in Iraq over the terrorist organization ISIS.
The ceremony witnessed the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the leaders of victory and the heroic martyrs, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, who stressed the importance of this occasion in the history of contemporary Iraq.
The Dean added, "Today we celebrate this glorious day to remind the young generations of the sacrifices made by our heroes from the security forces, the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces in order to liberate Iraq from the clutches of terrorist organizations, and raising the Iraqi flag here today is an embodiment of our pride in our homeland and in rebuilding our dear country."
The students participating in the celebration stressed that Victory Day represents a source of inspiration and pride for them, as they expressed their pride in being part of this homeland that was able to triumph over great challenges.
