A Lecturer at University of Basrah Participates in a Workshop on the Impact of Sulfur in Northern Basrah
A lecturer from the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah participated in a workshop on the impact of sulfur and heavy elements from gas associated with oil on soil and the productivity of wheat and barley in northern Basrah. The workshop was held at the Southern Technical University.
The workshop, in which Dr. Mohsen Abdul-Hay Dashir lectured, aims to share expertise between the agricultural and oil industry sectors to contribute to the application of agricultural research results to solve oil sector issues using climate-smart practices in agricultural fields near oil-producing fields and gas flares.
The participation included delivering a lecture on the impact of heavy elements emitted from oil flares on soil and the wheat and barley crops in northern Basrah, as well as agriculturally smart solutions.
