University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Workshop on Administrative, Financial, and Economic Corruption
The College of Administration and Economics, in collaboration with the Center for Development and Continuous Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness workshop on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day titled "Financial, Administrative, and Economic Corruption: Between Causes and Solutions."
The workshop aimed to clarify the concepts of corruption, diagnose them, and analyze their causes, paving the way for establishing proper procedures and recommendations to combat financial and administrative corruption.
During the workshop, presented by a group of distinguished faculty members, administrative corruption was defined as a phenomenon that affects efficiency and effectiveness in both governmental and private sectors. It emphasized the need for serious efforts to address it to achieve development and prosperity.
The workshop recommended enhancing efficiency and transparency in both public and private services and the enactment of strict laws to combat financial, administrative, and economic corruption.
