University of Basrah Organizes a Guidance Awareness Workshop on Cyber Extortion and Its Impact on Society
The College of Administration and Economics, in collaboration with the Center for Development and Continuous Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational guidance workshop on cyber extortion and its impact on society.
The workshop aimed to address the factors leading to cyber extortion, which include psychological and social causes, as well as the weakening of religious deterrents.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Rafif Abdul Hafidh Mohammed Taqi, included important concepts regarding the definition of cyber extortion, classifying it as a serious crime due to its negative effects on victims, whether psychologically, socially, or economically.
The workshop recommended establishing essential and effective methods to overcome the problem of cyber extortion, including communication with security agencies.
