University of Basrah Organizes a Poetry Festival on the Occasion of the Day of Dhad
Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center organized a poetry festival on the occasion of the Arabic Language Day (Day of Dhad) titled "Poems Pulsating with Love for the Arabic Language," with the participation of a select group of classical poets from Basrah Writers and Authors Union.
The festival aims to celebrate the language and emphasize its role in enhancing the cultural and civilizational identity of the countries that speak it, encourage creativity in the field of literature and poetry, and provide a platform for exchanging ideas and literary experiences between writers and specialized academics.
The festival included poetry readings and passionate speeches by a number of distinguished poets who expressed their love for the Arabic language through poems that varied in their themes between pride in the language, describing its aesthetics, and affirming its role in building human civilization.
