University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on the Impact of Climate on the Respiratory System
Basrah and Arab Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah organized a discussion seminar on the study of the impact of climate on respiratory diseases in Basrah Governorate for the year 2023.
The seminar, in which lecturer Hawra Ali Salman lectured, aimed to discuss the results of the study prepared for the year 2023 and highlight the importance of geographical studies that support other scientific specializations, including the medical specialization, by analyzing the natural and economic characteristics of a particular region and stating their impact on human health.
The seminar included an explanation of the climatic factors that cause allergies and asthma, such as solar radiation, heat, humidity, wind, rain, dust storms, and dust suspended in the air, in addition to other factors such as biological, physical, and chemical air pollution, personal and genetic characteristics, type of profession, and personal habits.
