University of Basrah Organizes a Cultural Symposium on the International Day of the Arabic Language
The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a cultural symposium on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language titled "Arabic: Legacy and Progress".
The symposium aimed to raise awareness of the importance of the Arabic language and highlight its historical and cultural status as the language of the Holy Qur’an and an extension of the Arabic and Islamic heritage.
The symposium, which was moderated by number of lecturers, addressed various aspects of the beauty and brilliance of the Arabic language, its connotations and interpretations, while explaining the efforts of scholars in improving and developing linguistic corrections.
The symposium stressed the need to raise awareness of the importance of the Arabic language and link it to technological developments and artificial intelligence, and encourage qualitative scientific research in linguistic and literary studies and enhance it in academic studies, in addition to emphasizing the importance of preserving the Arabic cultural identity by holding symposiums and competitions, promoting the language and protecting it from modern challenges, and highlighting the role of the media in preserving its linguistic integrity.
